The Caretaker Chairman of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali, has revealed that Blessing Oborududu was discovered from an inter-house wrestling competition at a high school.

Oborududu defeated Battsetseg Soronzobold of Mongolia 7-2 to reach the final of the 68kg gold medal contest on Monday.

A graduate of Business Administration from the Niger-Delta University, Oborududu attained more sporting excellence, showing great intent in her fight against Mongolia’s Battsetseg Soronzonbold from the go-to win the contest.

Reacting to her incredible performance, Igali stated that Oborududu was their project since the inception of his tenure and they are glad about what she has achieved.

“The wrestling team (members) are determined more than ever, to continue with their superlative performance and you can see how everyone in Nigeria is anxious to see us do well,” Igali said.
