A family is demanding justice following the death of a 12-year-old Junior Secondary School student of Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Ufokobong Edwin Godwin.
Ufokobong di£d on Easter Sunday, April 5, after he was allegedly hit in the school hostel by a senior student in Senior Secondary three (SS3) before the Easter holiday.
Video shared by Oga Yenne TV shows the mother of the boy crying over his body while vowing, “Senior student, you killed this child. You’ll not go scott free. We’ll fight you to the end.”

Other videos show his loved ones wailing as a casket was lowered into a grave. His grandma is also seen in one video, sitting on the floor and lamenting in front of the ambulance carrying his body.

According to the publication, one of the students who lived in the same hostel with the deceased said the senior student asked the victim for his provisions during exam period, but the junior boy refused, insisting that he didn’t have enough to share.
The senior then allegedly hit him on the neck, after which he became unconscious and other students raised alarm, prompting the compound master to come. He was rushed to hospital.
He later regained consciousness in the hospital and was taken back to school.
When the holiday came, the parents picked him up without being informed of any incident involving their son.
At home, the boy developed severe pains on his neck and the parents bought pain relief medication.
When his condition worsened, the father rushed the deceased to hospital where he di£d on Easter Sunday.
“The hospital later confirmed that he d!ed from complications associated with blood clots around his throat (neck area),” Oga Yenne TV alleged.
LIB contacted the father of the deceased to confirm if the allegations are true and he replied: “Sorry, I’m not in a position to make any comment now. I’m still in pains.”
