Trump Threatens to Sue Trevor Noah After Scathing Epstein Joke at 2026 Grammys

PALM BEACH, FL — President Donald Trump has vowed to take legal action against comedian Trevor Noah following a series of pointed jokes during the 68th Annual Grammy Awards that linked the President to the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

In an early morning tirade on Truth Social this Monday, February 2, 2026, the President slammed the award ceremony as “virtually unwatchable” and targeted Noah, who was hosting the event for the sixth and final time.

The Joke That Sparked the Firestorm

The tension peaked during the presentation for Song of the Year. Congratulating winner Billie Eilish, Noah quipped to the audience:

“That is a Grammy that every artist wants—almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense, because since Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out on with Bill Clinton.”

As the audience at Crypto.com Arena erupted in a mix of gasps and cheers, Noah added, “I told you it’s my last year! What are you going to do about it?”

Trump Fires Back

The President did not wait long to respond, labeling Noah a “poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.” and disputing the factual basis of the joke.

“Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!” Trump posted. “I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close… until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, [I] have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”

Trump concluded his post with a direct legal threat: “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue… and suing him for plenty$. Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”

Context of the Feud

The legal threat comes at a time of heightened scrutiny following the Justice Department’s recent release of over three million documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. While the files mention numerous high-profile figures, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche recently stated that many allegations within the documents were “determined to not be credible.”

This isn’t the President’s only current legal battle with the media; he also recently threatened to sue author Michael Wolff and the Epstein estate.

A Politically Charged Night

Noah’s jabs weren’t limited to Epstein. Throughout the night, he poked fun at:

  • A Third Term: Noah referenced his own departure from the Grammys as “setting an example” for knowing when to leave office.
  • Nicki Minaj: He mocked the rapper’s recent visit to the White House with a vocal impression of the President.
  • Broadcasting Rights: Trump noted that CBS was “lucky” to lose the “garbage” ceremony, referring to Disney taking over the Grammy broadcast rights starting in 2027.

Representatives for Trevor Noah have not yet issued a formal response to the threat of litigation.
