Two Chelsea fans ‘stabbed’ in Naples after being ‘chased by 25 ultras’ ahead of Champions League clash with Napoli

Two Chelsea fans have reportedly been st@bbed in Italy, after they were chased through the street by up to 25 Napoli ultras.

Chelsea supporters out in Naples have been urged to take “extreme caution” after the Blues fans were rushed to hospital overnight.

The two men were out in Naples with a large group of fellow fans for Chelsea’s crunch Champions League clash with Napoli this evening.

A close friend of one of the supporters who were attacked told The Sun: “We were at one bar, had a couple of drinks, then decided to go to another bar.

“As we were walking, we turned right, and then there was a group of 25 fans just shouting, asking where we were from.

“We all ran, but my mate got grabbed and started talking to them, he then got st@bbed in the lower leg.

“He went to hospital and then they said he should be all fine, it was scary.”

Chelsea have confirmed the incident as they released a statement saying: “The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples.

“Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

“The club would like to remind all supporters to exercise extreme caution whilst in the city and take note of the advice shared ahead of this fixture.”

The club has strongly advised fans not to walk around alone in the city and to avoid wearing clothing that denotes them as a Chelsea fan.
