No less than two persons have died while one was seriously injured as bus plunged into a ditch  in Onitsha, Anambra State, The Nation reports.

The accident which occurred around 11pm on Monday, involved a Toyota Hiace bus with three persons on board.

The Nation gathered that the bus was trapped in a roadside drainage when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Andrew Kumapayi, confirmed the incident, blaming it on poor visibility due to a downpour.

He cautioned motorist to always exercise patience while driving in the rain, especially when visibility is poor, as well as to pull out in safe place to avoid any form of traffic mishap.
