According to sources, the militias invaded the community and started shooting sporadically, killing and wounding people.

Two persons have been killed as gunmen stormed Kuru Station of Wereng Community, Riyom LGA, Plateau State, on Sunday evening, April 23.

Sources told The Nation that the militias invaded the community and started shooting sporadically, killing and wounding people, leading to cries for help.

Spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, (OPSH) in charge of Plateau , Bauchi and Kaduna States, Capt. James Oya confirmed the attack and added that they are on top of the situation.

He said the gunmen sporadically opened fire, while passing by and a bullet reportedly hit and killed a member of the community.
