Umahi: Bags 2016 Zik Prize For Leadership In Good Governance Award

Governor David Umahi, of Ebonyi state, by 22:15hours on Sunday June 4, 2017, added another shining laurel under his belt, as he victoriously joined the league of eminent Nigerian leaders conferred with the prestigious 2016 Zik Prize for good governance and outstanding leadership. The award is a true reflection of the popular saying that a goldfish has no hiding place. Though a super performer, Umahi wears his achievements lightly. But today, his leadership credentials shot him into national consciousness.

Chief Umahi is first in a list of three governors which include Kashim Shettima of Borno State and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano who also emerged winners in the good governance category.

The Ziks Awards which held on Sunday Night at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island Lagos has the former President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Prof Joe Irukwu as chairman, in a colourful ceremony witnessed by His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi who is the Royal Guest of Honour.

The award was inspired and named after the Rt Hon Benjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first president of Nigeria, of blessed memory.

Some of those who bagged awards at the ceremony are CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Alhaji Ahmed Joda, among other distinguished Nigerians………
