UN Security Council Visit Maiduguri (Photos)

A delegation from the 15-nations member United Nations Security Council on Sunday 5th March 2017 visited Maiduguri, the Borno state capital and birthplace of the Boko Haram insurgency.
Led by Mathew Rycroft, UK’s Permanent Representative at the UN who holds the council’s rotating presidency for the month of March, the UN team are in the country on the fourth and final leg of their Lake Chad Tour to obtain first-hand information on the effects of the Boko Haram-induced crisis in the region and the efforts at tackling them.
