Students in parts of northern Nigeria have been seen stepping on Israeli and United States flags during protests organised in solidarity with Iran.
A video circulating online shows a group of students at a school gathering placing the two flags on the ground and stood on them as part of a demonstration.
The protests were reportedly organised by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, a Shia Islamic group known for holding rallies over international political issues.
According to reports, the demonstrations were held to show support for Iran following reports that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed during strikes allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel.

During the events, protesters waved Iranian flags and carried large portraits of Khamenei while chanting slogans critical of the United States and Israel.
Reports indicate that similar demonstrations took place in several northern states, including Gombe State, Kano State, and Niger State.
In some locations, organisers reportedly placed Israeli and American flags on the ground during school events and marches, where participants symbolically stepped on them as part of the protest.
The organisers described the demonstrations as a way of mourning what they called a “heinous attack” and expressing solidarity with Iran.
