Valencia have confirmed the sale of Francis Coquelin to Villarreal, with the former Arsenal midfielder ending his time at Mestalla after three years of service.

A statement on Los Che’s official website reads: “Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Villarreal CF for the transfer of footballer Francis Coquelin. 

“Valencia CF wish him the best for the rest of his professional career and want to thank him for all his effort and commitment as a VCF player. 

“Coquelin has played 89 official matches during the last three seasons, a stage in which he helped to win a Copa del Rey title.”
