We are yet to find corpse of slain Fulani community leader in Plateau – Military

Operation Safe Haven, a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, says the corpse of the slain Fulani leader, Adamu Idris Gidado, has not been recovered. Gidado, who was the Ardo (the leader of Fulani) in the Panyam District of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state, was killed on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

According to the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, late Adamu was killed while returning from a visit to the District Head of Panyam, and the whereabouts of his corpse remained unknown.

The spokesperson of OPSH, Captain Oya James, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday said a search team had been deployed to the area to look for the corpse, adding that the command would do everything possible to find it.

Captain James called on the people of this region to remain calm, saying they would surely arrest and prosecute those responsible for such an act.

“We’re looking for the culprits in this case.” It’s been a terrible accident. Since Saturday morning, the troops are on the search of the perpetrators and must be brought to book,” he said.
