Woman narrates how her aunt, who was beating her, reacted when her husband tried to intervene

A woman has shared a traumatising experience from her childhood that she will never forget. 

She narrated how her parents sent her to stay with her uncle and his wife to protect her during a religious crisis in Kaduna. 

She went on to narrate how her aunt was flogging her one day for not helping their child with homework. When she ran to her uncle and he intervened, she said the aunt also abused her husband in her presence for interfering. 

She recalled: “Due to sharia war in KD. I was taken to uncle for a while, my uncle’s wife beat me for not helping her daughter with all her home work because I was doing mine, I ran to my uncle (her husband)  as she was flogging me mercilessly. 

“He grabbed me furiously to go talk to her cos he knew my dad would raise hell, we approached his wife & he started questioning her, this woman jerked him by his shirt, pushed me and him both into the sofa and beat both of us. 

“I have never in my life seen such a wife, my daddy came and carried me that weekend. 

“All my uncles and aunties were scared of her till she di£d.”
