A Nigerian woman has shared the response she received after she told her American students that she could not teach classes online because the national grid collapsed.
Just this week, the national grid collapsed twice, plunging Nigeria into darkness. Unfortunately, due to the hike in the price of fuel, many homes and businesses could also not afford to power their generators.
One X user took to the platform to share how it affected her.
The woman, who teaches Korean language to students abroad, wrote: “I went to tell my American student we couldn’t have class because our national grid shutting down, and she thought I was in danger. Shame catch me.”
Another X user wrote: “Reminds me of that time I was introducing myself on Zoom for a training, I was the only Nigerian. Said I was from Nigeria and a lady replied with ‘I’m so sorry’”
