Four boys have been arrested following the gang-rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl.
Ayu Andriani, 13, was found dead in the Chinese cemetery at Talang Kerikil TPU, Palembang, Indonesia.
According to police information, Ayu was found with foam coming out of her nose and mouth.
The community found Ayu Andriani’s body at around 1:00pm and they reported to the police.
Kemuning Police Chief AKP Firmansyah, received reports from residents at around 4:00pm.
The police took quick steps by taking Ayu Andriani’s body to the Bhayangkara Hospital in Palembang.
The body was examined by the Forensic Doctor of the Bhayangkara Hospital Palembang, Dr. Indra Nasution.
Dr. Indra Nasution, explained that Ayu Andriani’s death was caused by lack of oxygen and asphyxia, meaning the boys strangled her to death.
Police investigation led to the arrest of 4 boys, who are all minors.
Imam Satrio Bin Moses, 16, is the oldest of the four suspects.
The other suspects are Nail Shams Afzal Bin Abwar Riswandi, M Zaid Al Fiki Als Viki Bin Inaidi, and Agan Septiano Aditya Bin Dedi Halimi. All three are between ages 12 and 13.
Videos shared online show the body of Ayu on the floor of the cemetery, with locals surrounding her after she was found.
Another video shows a man, said to be Ayu’s father, crying bitterly over her d£@th while people comforted him.
This latest case of femicide has sparked outrage, especially due to the age of young the suspects.
