APC Chieftain, Daniel Bwala Dumps Party After Tinubu Announced Muslim As His Running Mate

Daniel Bwala has tendered his resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress.

The popular lawyer announced his resignation after its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu announced his running mate who is also a Muslim. 

Recall that there’s been concerns about a Muslim-Muslim ticket after Tinubu confirmed former Borno governor, Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Shortly after this, Bwala announced that he is resigning from the ruling party based on principles and conviction. He also stated that at this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Sunday night July 10, he wrote; 

“Tonight I officially resigned my membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear. At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.”
