Gunmen on Wednesday, stormed the residence of Kabiru Matazu, Chairman of Matazu Local Government Council in Katsina State, killed the gateman and abducted his two children.

It was gathered that the suspected bandits numbering about 20, stormed the house about 2 .10am and started shooting.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, told newsmen in Katsina that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday. He identified the security guard as Kabir Matazu.

Mr Isah said that after killing the security guard, the bandits abducted the two children, Aliyu and Abubakar Kabir Farouk. One of them has just completed his senior secondary school while the younger one is still in school.

He said that trackers were already on the trail of the bandits to arrest them and rescue the kidnapped children.
