Arsenal have break Scottish transfer record after confirming the signing of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney on a reported £25m fee.

The 22-year-old was born in the Isle of Man and had been with his boyhood club since the age of seven made 170 appearances for Celtic and has played 12 times for Scotland. Tierney completed a medical at London Colney on Thursday and penned a long-term deal, where he immediately join up with his new teammates ahead of Premier League opener against Newcastle on Sunday.

Unai Emery said on Arsenal official website he said:  “We’re delighted Kieran is joining us. He’s a very talented player who will continue to improve. He increases our options defensively and I look forward to him joining our group.”Tierney will wear the No 3 shirt for the season and the Scotland international will become Gunner’s fifth signing of the summer after signing on transfer deadline day.
