Arturo Vidal: This Is Like A Nightmare That Just Keeps Getting Worse

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed his anxiety at the situation caused by the coronavirus crisis and how much it is affecting him.

The Chilean, like all his Barcelona teammates, is currently training at home while the outbreak continues to wreak havoc across Spain and the world.

“It’s all been so strange,” Vidal told Chile’s Canal 13.

“Being at home every day, watching people die all over the world – it’s horrible.

“I’m constantly worried, and I feel like I’m in a nightmare that’s getting worse and worse.

“I’m really sad about everything, because no one knows when it’s going to end.

“I never thought something like this could happen.

“We’ve just got to be there for each other as much as we can.”

Alongside fellow Chilean international Gary Medel, Vidal has started a campaign to raise funds for the Red Cross in his home country.

The 32-year-old is also continuing to follow his training plan, despite the uncertainty.

“I’m still training twice a day,” he said.

“Before it would’ve been once at the club and once at home, but now it’s twice at home.

“Not being at the club is the hardest bit, it’s difficult not seeing your teammates or being able to share anything with them.”
