Autopsy On Late Singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu Ready – Police
The autopsy result conducted on late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu is out, the police disclosed on Monday.
Osinachi, a lead singer at Dunamis International Gospel Centre, died on April 8 in a hospital in Abuja. She is alleged to have endured years of domestic violence from her husband Peter Nwachukwu who is in police custody.
Following Mr Nwachukwu’s arrest on April 10, the case was transferred from the Lugbe Police Division to the state criminal investigation department.
On Monday, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command said it transferred Osinachi’s case to the directorate of public prosecutions for legal advice.
“The case is no longer with us. It is now with the DPP in the office of the attorney general,” FCT Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh said.
Nwachukwu was on April 20 paraded before his children — three boys and a girl — and his in-laws during a visit led by the minister of women affairs Pauline Tallen to the inspector general of police Usman Baba.
A child and gender rights advocacy group Men Against R*pe Foundation (MARF) said such action would further traumatise the children, accusing Tallen of clout-chasing.
