A UK-based Nigerian woman has stirred reactions online after explaining why she continues to support President Bola Tinubu despite the security challenges facing the country.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she argued that insecurity and banditry did not begin under Tinubu’s administration, noting that the problem has existed for many years before he assumed office.
In her words, she said:
“I will touch my heart and tell you that banditry has been in existence before President Tinubu came into office.”
She added that many Nigerians acknowledge that the President is making efforts and should be given the opportunity to complete his tenure before being judged.
According to her, removing or replacing leaders too quickly may not necessarily solve the country’s problems, especially when longstanding issues are involved.
“I’m supporting him because people say he is trying, and because the guy is there and since he is already there, let him stay and complete his eight years,” he added.
Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online, while some Nigerians agreed that Tinubu deserves more time to implement his policies and reforms, others insisted that citizens have every right to demand immediate improvements in security and governance.
The statement has added to the growing debate over President Tinubu’s performance, with supporters and critics continuing to express different views about the direction of the country.
