Barcelona has a shortage of options in the defensive midfield role with only Sergio Busquet and Arturo Vidal the only defensive midfield option in the team.

Blaugrana lack options in the midfield and Quique Setien is ready to bring in some reinforcement.

Kante has been touted with a move to Barcelona with Chelsea open to the deal to sell the 29-year-old defensive midfielder.

The former Leicester City midfielder’s contract expires in 2023 and could be allowed to leave considering his recent injury worries that have limited his involvement in manager Frank Lampard set up.
