Asari said the President should disregard appeals from some Igbo leaders pushing for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

“Former Niger-Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubu has asked the federal government not to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
 
He said the President should disregard appeals from some Igbo leaders pushing for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
 
Dokubo said it will not be right to release someone who has been accused of killing Igbo people and bringing chaos to their lands.
 
Recall that the IPOB leader has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) from where he appears in court to face charges bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism levelled against him by the federal government.
 
However, speaking on the matter during a live Facebook session on Thursday night, Dokubo who has been at loggerheads with Kanu said the IPOB leader should remain in custody as he is responsible for the havoc been wrecked by his followers in the southeast over moves to secure an independent state of Biafra.
 
“They will come and be begging (the FG) to bring out Nnamdi Kanu. For what? For the people that is killing? You take Mkpuru mmiri, then eat the flesh of our people.
 
“You accuse your Governors, they are afraid, they cannot talk,” Dokubo said in a Facebook Live on Thursday night.
 
He further accused IPOB members of intimidating traditional rulers and political leaders in the region with their violent approach to the Biafra agitation.
 
“What these evil men are doing to our people, do they have hearts? You take traditional rulers, chain them, you put gun inside their mouth, from your own videos, that traditional rulers are the people who are not allowing Biafra to come, that they are the people who have connived not to allow Biafra to come. This is bad,” Dokubo said.
