BREAKING: FG Gives In To Pressure, Returns £4.2 million Ibori Loot to Delta State

The government of Delta state has received £4.2 million looted by James Ibori loot and his cronies. The money was returned to the state by the federal government.

Nigeria’s Accountant-General, Ahmed Idris made the disclosure on Tuesday.

Recall that the money was recenlty repatriated from the United Kingdom to Nigeria.

Former Delta Governor, James Ibori looted the funds during his time in office.

Idris revealed this on Tuesday while addressing the Abuja House of Representatives’ Ad hoc Committee on Assessment and Status of All Recovered Loots Movable and Immovable Assets from 2002 to 2020 by Agencies of the Federal Government of Nigeria for Effective Efficient Management and Utilisation.

He stated that this was in line with laid down procedure as funds looted from a state are usually returned to the state. He pointed out that states could take the Federal government to court if such funds are not returned.
