Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat against local rival Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening.

The victory propelled the Cityzens to the final of the Carabao Cup with a chance to defend the title against Tottenham.

The first half ended up in a stalemate despite three goals disallowed in the opening 45 minutes but goals from John Stones and Fernandinho in the 50th and 83rd minute of the clash ensure that Pep Guardiola’s men set up a final showdown with Jose Mourinho’s men on April 25th.

Manchester City will have the opportunity to defend the title they won last year against Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.
