Chelsea are planning to tempt Dean Henderson to Stamford Bridge this summer by doubling his wages.

The Blues are eyeing a new goalkeeper with Frank Lampard growing frustrated with Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Henderson’s representatives have been contacted despite the west London outfit shelling out £71m to sign Kepa just two years ago.

But Chelsea are looking to swoop in and seal the services of the current Sheffield United goalkeeper.

Henderson, who has recorded 13 clean sheets this term, earns around £70,000-a-week but the Blues are ready to pay him £170,000, reports the MEN.

The 23-year-old’s future remains uncertain with parent club Manchester United being forced into a corner.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has regularly reiterated his commitment to current No 1 David de Gea, who only signed a new deal last summer.

Henderson has already stated that he has no desire to return to Old Trafford and play second fiddle to the Spaniard.

And Lampard is looking to see whether Chelsea can take advantage of the situation by signing the man who is touted as England’s next goalkeeper.

Henderson is said to be desperate to play for United but will consider pastures new if the door remains shut – something he recently admitted.

He told TV3 : “I think it’s clear for everyone to know. I want to play for Manchester United and England.

“It feels like I always hit a brick wall. Maybe I’ll get the opportunity [to play for Man Utd], maybe I won’t, then I’ll have to look down a different avenue.

Chelsea’s defence has been their Achilles heel this term with Lampard alternating between Kepa and Willy Caballero in goal.

But the west Londoners have wasted no time in the transfer market as they look to bolster their squad with a goalkeeper very much on their agenda.
