Notable Nigerian singer Chike shared a surprising encounter with a former school bully, who referred to him as “big bro” despite being older than him.
Taking to X on Sunday, the music star narrated the interaction:
“Person weh de bully me lowkey for school just call me big bro. By the way, e senior me.”
The post sparked reactions among fans, with some accusing Chike of being “classist” in his remarks. Responding to the criticism, Chike clarified his stance, saying, “Classism not the point. Rest.”
Notably, Chike joins a growing list of Nigerian celebrities, including Tiwa Savage, Tems, Kizz Daniel, and Taymesan, who have spoken out about their experiences with bullying during their formative years.
While many fans applauded Chike for overcoming his past and achieving success, others debated the dynamics of such encounters and how they reflect societal changes.
