Nashville, TN – April 8, 2024 Country music singer Morgan Wallen faces felony charges following a bizarre incident in downtown Nashville on Sunday night. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Wallen was arrested after allegedly throwing a chair from the sixth-floor rooftop of a bar.
Police reports indicate that Wallen was at Chief’s, a restaurant and bar owned by country artist Eric Church, when he allegedly tossed the chair from the top floor landing just a few feet from two officers stationed on the street below. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Wallen’s lawyer confirmed the arrest and stated that the singer is cooperating with authorities. Wallen is facing three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, a class E felony in Tennessee, due to the chair landing near the officers and the potential danger to the public. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
This is not the first time Wallen has been in the news for off-stage antics. In 2021, he was suspended by his record label after a video surfaced showing him using a racial slur. Wallen later apologized for his actions.
Wallen was booked into Metro Jail early Monday morning and released shortly after on a bond of $15,250. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 3rd. The incident comes as Wallen is currently on his “One Night At A Time Tour”.
