Davido slams Erigga over comments about musicians from wealthy families

Nigerian music star Davido has fired back at rapper Erigga following a post celebrating musicians who came from poor backgrounds and had to work their way to success.

Erigga had written, “Shoutout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and had to grind for every single dollar they earn.”

Davido, who has often faced criticism and conversations surrounding his wealthy family background, reacted strongly to the post.

“No be we say make your pops no guard o. Shoutout to the ones that came from family money and still grind to the top, imbecile,” Davido wrote.

He followed it up with another post, saying, “Comot here with that your useless motivation.”

The singer also questioned why anyone would prefer poverty, writing, “Deep down who like poverty?”

Davido later shared another post in which he appeared to dismiss the ongoing conversations around his music and wealth.

“No worry o I go soon leave their music for una. GO MAKE MY BILLIONS… then that shit gonna be boring.”
