De Laurentiis Confirms Osimhen’s Role At Napoli

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is a major reason why manager Gennaro Gattuso is changing system ahead of the 2020/2021 season.

The 21-year-old made a club record move to Naples this summer and began his career with a hat-trick during an 11-0 friendly win over Italian fourth division side L’Aquila during a training camp at Castel di Sangro last Friday.

“I imagine we’ll see Napoli in a 4-2-3-1 formation, but then Gattuso is extremely creative and capable of reinventing situations based on the opponents and players at his disposal,” De Laurentiis told Canale 21.

Meanwhile, De Laurentiis revealed that Napoli are hoping to sell Kalidou Koulibaly and Arkadiusz Milik this summer. Koulibaly and Milik are both on their way out, transfer market permitting,” He said.

“So, if the transfer market allows us to sell these two excellent players, we will know how to replace them. If not, then we’ll discuss it again next year.”
