Dismissed Soldiers Arrested For Armed Robbery In Lagos

The Lagos state Police command has arrested some dismissed military officers and other members of their gang who rob residents of Ijegun area of the state in military uniform. 

The arrested suspects include three dismissed Nigerian army officers, two dismissed naval officers and two civilians. The suspects paraded before newsmen were identified as Ndidi Oluchukwu, Owolabi Adeyemo, David Olufemi, Samuel Israel, Emeka Ibeh, Samuel Anochime, and Ebedot Stephen. 

Their arrest came after they robbed a man traveling from Ibadan to Ijegun of his Lexus RX330 car on February 18. Items recovered from the suspects include 12 pairs of military camouflage uniforms, military ID cards, two cutlasses, ATM cards, jack knives, female pants and a local ring.

Commenting on the arrest of the suspects, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu said the suspects confessed to be responsible for series of robberies within Ijegun and its environs.
