The fight between Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim degenerated on Wednesday after the Governor ordered the sack of all appointees from Ivo Local Government Area. 

Anyim hails from Ivo local government area. Recall that trouble started between the two after Governor Umahi defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying that he had planned it with Anyim. However, Anyim countered that Umahi only wanted to drown with him.

A statement by Ugbala Kenneth Igwe, Ph.D., Secretary to the State Government/ Coordinating Commissioner said those relieved of their duties are: 1) All STAs and TAs from Ivo Local Government Area 2) All Liaison Officers from Ivo Local Government Area 3) All Management Committee members from Ivo Local Government Area.

 The affected office holders are to handover all Government Property in their possession to the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner by the close of work today, 2nd December 2020.
