Cavani admitted that he would not have signed a contract extension at Man United had he known Cristiano Ronaldo would be coming back to the club.

The Uruguayan signed a one-year contract extension in May 2021 after initially signing for the club more than a year earlier.

His spell at Manchester United has been plagued by injuries, and he has managed just two Premier League goals this season.
