President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered a strong Eid-el-Kabir 2026 message to Nigerians, assuring citizens of his administration’s commitment to defeating insecurity and strengthening national unity.
In a State House statement, the President extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world as they mark Eid-el-Kabir, describing the season as one of sacrifice, faith, and reflection.
Tinubu said the festival honours the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, especially obedience, faith, and willingness to make sacrifices for a higher purpose.
He noted that Eid-el-Kabir calls for compassion, selflessness, and unity among all people regardless of background or belief.
He added that the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail remains a timeless example of devotion and submission to divine will, urging Nigerians to embrace similar values in their daily lives.
The President stated that Nigeria is currently undergoing a period of national reconstruction, adding that ongoing reforms, though difficult, are necessary for long-term prosperity.
According to him, the policies introduced by his administration over the past three years are already yielding results, including greater economic stability and increased investor confidence.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” he said, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s economic future.
Tinubu acknowledged ongoing security challenges, including attacks by terrorist groups and bandits in some parts of the country.
He referenced recent operations by security agencies, including the reported elimination of a wanted ISIS-linked leader, and assured citizens that the government remains committed to ending insecurity.
“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he declared.
The President urged Muslims to use the Eid period to pray for peace, national progress, and wisdom for leaders. He also called on citizens to support the less privileged and strengthen bonds of brotherhood.
He further appealed to individuals involved in criminal activities to abandon such paths or face the full weight of the law.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving security, expanding infrastructure, boosting agriculture, and investing in human capital development.
He said these efforts aim to build a nation where citizens can live peacefully, worship freely, and pursue their aspirations without fear.
The President concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying for divine acceptance of prayers and sacrifices.
Eid Mubarak and Happy Sallah.
