Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has suggested that his team lost against Barcelona in a pre-season El Clasico friendly tie on Sunday morning in Las Vegas because he featured some younger players.

DAILY POST reports that Ancelotti watched as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 1-0 following a stunning strike from Raphinha.

Speaking to Diario AS after the match, Ancelotti also admitted that his team faced a very strong opponent.

Ancelloti said, “It was a good match with a lot of intensity, especially in the first half. I thought it was an even game.

“I tried to spread out the minutes because of everyone’s physical condition.

“Obviously, when you play Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, It’s easier, but I also wanted to play some younger players. Overall, I liked this performance against an opponent that is very strong.”
