Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has hinted that loan moves are on the cards for two of the club’s youngsters who impressed during Friday’s 4-1 pre-season win over Melbourne Victory.

The two players are Ethan Laird and Tahith Chong.

Recall that Laird and Chong featured for Man United as they defeated Melbourne in Australia.

Goals from Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Edmond Lupancu (OG) ensured Ten Hag’s side won their second pre-season friendly match, having defeated Liverpool a few days ago.

Speaking on Laird and Chong specifically, Ten Hag said at his post-match press conference: “That’s why we took them with us, we want to have an impression of all the players.

“They got a chance to show what they can and what capabilities they can contribute to Man United or maybe a loan period better, also there are other possibilities.

“This is good United has some talents, but you see they need improvements and development.”
