“Except the guy who paid the bills” — Man recounts how ladies ignored his friends after Lekki outing

A man has recounted an unexpected experience after he and his friends met a group of ladies while having Chinese food at a lounge in Lekki, Lagos.

According to the man, the group invited the ladies to join them at their table, where everyone appeared to enjoy the interaction and received equal attention from the women.

He explained that one of his friends, who had recently made some money, was sponsoring the outing. However, due to restrictions on his account, he sold some coins and transferred the money to the only friend in the group who had an ATM card before briefly stepping out.

What happened after they paid the bill

After the meal, the bill arrived and the friends jokingly hailed the ATM holder as their “chairman” as he settled the payment.

The group subsequently left the lounge after exchanging Instagram and Snapchat handles with the ladies.

However, the man said they were surprised when none of the women responded to messages from him and his other friends.

According to his account, the only person who received replies was the friend whose ATM was used to pay the bill.

The experience has prompted questions about whether the ladies’ attention was influenced by the person who appeared to foot the bill.

While the man did not claim to know why the women chose to respond only to that particular friend, his account highlights the unexpected ways social interactions can change after an outing.

The incident has since become a talking point among the friends, particularly because the friend who actually sponsored the outing was not the one who appeared to make the payment.
