Father-of-four returns from America to wed new wife in Nigeria, sparking allegations of “bigamy” (video)

A man, said to still be married to a Nigerian woman who gave him four children, has been accused of “bigamy” after he allegedly returned to Nigeria to wed a younger woman “without informing his wife or children”. 

The man, identified as Goodluck Ikechukwu Nshi from Nkalaha in Ishielu LGA, Ebonyi State, and his wife, are both nurses living in America. They have four children together. 
 

However, their marriage hit the rocks allegedly due to “the husband’s repeated neglect, infidelity, and general disregard for his family,” a source claimed to LIB. 

As a result, the wife filed for divorce in February 2025 in the US, although they continue living together under the same roof as an estranged couple. 

Subsequently, Mr Nshi is alleged to have attempted to get his wife to withdraw the divorce filing from the US court and when nothing worked, he filed for divorce in Nigeria and allegedly concealed it from his wife and the American court, the source claimed. 

The source alleged that he filed for divorce in Nigeria “in an effort to sidestep his financial and parental responsibilities.” 

In June, Mr Nshi returned to Nigeria, allegedly gave a testimony when the divorce case came up in court on June 13, 2025, and married a young woman on June 14. 

The source further alleged that the woman he married was his “mistress” whom he met when he returned to Nigeria in 2022 “under the pretense of attending a professional conference”. 
 

Afterwards, Mr Nshi allegedly returned home to his family in the US. 

The wife and children in the US were reportedly not aware of the wedding until the wife started receiving calls from Nigeria after the wedding. 

The source stated that Mr Nshi’s action is tantamount to bigamy since he still has a wife and children abroad. 

The source added that the husband has “continued to lie to others, claiming that his wife had abandoned him and taken the children, thus continuing the deception that has defined much of his behavior throughout the breakdown of the marriage.”
