“Fear Lagos men. He thought I’d follow him home because he spent ₦180k on our date” – Lady says (video)

A Nigerian lady has recounted an awkward experience with a man after he allegedly expected her to go home with him following an “expensive” date.


Speaking during an appearance on the Whotpodcast, she revealed that the man spent over ₦180,000 on their dinner date before driving towards his house instead of taking her home. However, she refused to follow him home.

 

“I once went on a dinner date with a guy, and after the date, he started driving me to his house instead of taking me home. I told him I wasn’t going to his house that night, so he pulled over and told me to order an Uber because he wouldn’t be able to drive me home. He had spent over ₦180k on the date, and maybe that made him think I would automatically follow him home. My Uber hadn’t even arrived before he drove off.”

 

She suggested that the amount he spent may have influenced his expectations, but maintained that paying for the date did not mean she had to follow him home.


The lady’s account has sparked reactions online, with social media users debating whether spending “heavily” on a date should create any expectation of intimacy.
