Galatasaray reject ₦189 billion bid for Victor Osimhen – Report

Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray have reportedly rejected a bid worth approximately ₦189 billion (€120 million) for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

​Osimhen’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, despite him only joining Galatasaray on a permanent transfer from Napoli last summer.

​During the recently concluded season, the Nigerian star was instrumental in the club’s success, contributing 22 goals and eight assists in 32 appearances to help lead the Cimbom to a fourth consecutive league title. His presence on the pitch proved transformative for the team, especially in the UEFA Champions League.

​Due to these stellar performances, Osimhen has been linked with several top European clubs. Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and Bayern Munich have all been mentioned as potential suitors, though no concrete deal has materialized.

​Meanwhile, the 27-year-old marksman has frequently reiterated his desire to remain in Istanbul. Galatasaray have been equally firm regarding their stance, repeatedly stating their intent to keep the striker—a commitment they have now reinforced by rejecting this latest approach.

Galatasaray’s Big Victor Osimhen Decision

​According to Forza Cimbom, the bid came from Atlético Madrid. It is understood that Los Rojiblancos are pursuing the Nigerian as a primary target, as they may lose their top two strikers, Alexander Sørloth and Julián Álvarez, this summer.

​Galatasaray’s decision to reject such a massive sum is a bold statement for a Turkish club. However, having already shocked the football world last year by signing Osimhen for €75 million and placing him on a significant salary, the club has proven they are comfortable making aggressive decisions in the transfer market.

Nonetheless, with the transfer window remaining open for several more months, there remains a possibility that the situation could evolve, should the club’s resolve be tested further.
