A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after revealing why she intends to retain her  father’s surname after marriage.

‎According to the lady, who praised her father, her decision stems from her family having no male child.

‎In the viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the lady disclosed that she could hyphenate her father’s surname with her husband’s name, while her sisters have decided to follow suit.

‎ According to her, she intends to continue her father’s legacy and hopes her partner accepts her decision.

”I want to maintain my father’s surname . We are all girls in my family. I just want to keep it in remembrance that there’s a man who is so great”, She stated, while commending her father’s outstanding qualities.

‎Speaking further, the lady disclosed that  she’s aware marital crises stem from surname disagreements among couples.
