Henry Nwosu Tasks Rohr Over Playmaker Role

Ex-internationals Henry Nwosu has urged Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr to leave no stone unturned in his quest to produce a prolific playmaker for the senior national team.

In an exclusive chat with FCNaija, the former Green Eagles midfielder hinged his submission on the team’s need to bee up its midfield with the top midfielder in the mould of Muda Lawal, Henry Nwosu and Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

He admitted that Alex Iwobi will get better with the time given the pedigree of coach Carlo Ancelotti, but maintained that the pressure on the Everton midfielder affected his performance last season. The former Racing Boufassam FC of Cameroon maestro pointed out the pressure that comes with the playmaker role can be very demanding especially with the national team.

” The playmaker role is a delicate position and it’s not just for any player. Iwobi is doing his best and he can get better, but the young man needs our support.” The pressure that comes with being a playmaker can affect your performance especially if you look at the pedigree of players like , Muda Lawal, Henry Nwosu and Jay-Jay Okocha in the national team.” Rohr is doing well but he must keep searching for top playmaker for Super Eagles, because we really want to win the next Nations Cup,” he said.
