“I can’t say I know for sure”- Bashir El-Rufai responds after being asked if his father stole public funds

Bashir El-Rufai early today replied to an X-user who took to the micro-blogging site to ask him if his father and former governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, stole public funds or not while in office. 

The State House of Assembly some months back accused El-Rufai’s administration of embezzling N432 billion and left the state with significant debt obligations. 

The X user last night took to Bashir’s comment section to inquire from him if his father stole or not. Responding, Bashir said he has no idea and that it is his father and Allah who knows the truth. He however mentioned that the man he knows as his father is not a thief.
