I don’t care if my husband has 10 side chicks as long as he doesn’t marry any of them – Nigerian woman says

A Nigerian woman, Aishat Ibrahim, has stated her opposition to polygamy, adding that her husband is free to have side chicks as long as he doesn’t marry any of the women. 

“See ehn, let’s stop pretending. All these people shouting polygamy up and down, they should keep it to themselves. As for me, as a woman, I can never accommodate another woman in my home. I don’t care if my husband has 10 side chicks, that’s his headache. But the day he makes the mistake of marrying any of them and bringing her into our home as “wife,” that’s w#r,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

“Because let’s be honest, it’s not just about sharing a man, it’s about opening your doors for another woman to come and raise her own kids under your roof, kids that tomorrow will start dragging inher!tance with yours. God forb!d!

“Even when a side chick gets pregnant, unless bride price has been paid on her head, that child doesn’t get full rights to the father’s inher!tance in many cultures. So please, frol!c with women all you want, just don’t bring her home and call it marriage. Polygamy? My left yansh mitcheew.”
