“I don’t want to lose my sister” – Lady cries out as kidnappers abduct NYSC members travelling from Bayelsa to Abuja

A Nigerian lady has cried out for help after her sister, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, was reportedly abducted by kidnappers while travelling from Bayelsa State to Abuja.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) she revealed that her sister had travelled to Bayelsa for the mandatory three-week orientation camp before being posted to Niger State for her Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).

She explained that her sister was returning to Abuja to spend the night before proceeding to Niger State the following day.

In her words, she said:

“My sister went to Bayelsa for her three weeks camp, after the camp she was posted to Niger state. On her way coming back from Bayelsa to Abuja, she was coming back to spend the day in Abuja, so the next day which is on Thursday she will go to Niger state to do her PPA.”

According to her, the vehicle carrying her sister and other corps members was attacked by kidnappers during the journey.

She alleged that the driver was killed while her sister and the other corps members were taken into the bush. She added that the family has yet to receive any positive update from the police.

The distressed woman appealed to the government, NYSC and Nigerians to intervene and ensure the safe release of the victims.

She disclosed that the family recently lost their mother, making the situation even more difficult for them.

“I don’t want to lose my sister. She only went to serve her country. I have reached out to NYSC, they keep telling us that the Air Force are working. Please, Nigerians help us.”

Her plea has drawn concern online, with Nigerians urging the authorities to intensify efforts to locate and rescue the abducted corps members.
