I want to be a walking fantasy – Woman says after removing six ribs to get 23-inch ‘barbie waist’

Most people would spend £75,000 on a new car or a house deposit. But for Florida woman Anakaliyah Mooi, that six-figure sum has gone towards transforming her appearance through years of cosmetic surgery and body modification.

What began with a breast augmentation as soon as she turned 18 has developed into a years-long journey that has included four breast augmentations, rhinoplasty, veneers, butt fillers, rib removal and a controversial waist-narrowing procedure. “I told myself that as soon as I turned 18, I was getting a boob job,” Anakaliyah said. “That was the very first thing I did.”

The 29-year-old social media personality, who says she grew up in a conservative Catholic family where everything had to be “prim and proper”, insists she was never unhappy with the way she looked but always wanted to enhance her appearance.

“I’ve spent a little over £75,000 on plastic surgery and I’m not done,” she said. “People say I look like an airbag because of my boobs, but I actually like looking exaggerated. I’ve always loved myself, I just believe there’s always room for improvement.”

Inspired by cartoon bombshells Jessica Rabbit and Betty Boop, Anakaliyah says her goal has never been to achieve a natural appearance. “Jessica Rabbit and Betty Boop are big inspirations,” she said. “I want to be a walking, living fantasy. I consider my body a work of art,” she added. “To me, it’s a true expression of beauty.”

Standing 5ft 3¾in tall and weighing 114lbs, Anakaliyah has increased her bust from an A-cup to a 34H through four breast augmentation procedures. Her latest surgery involved expandable implants that can be periodically filled.

Today, her implants measure 2,070cc, weigh around eight pounds and cost approximately £9,100. “I’m permanently carrying around £9,100 worth of implants,” she laughed. Her current measurements are a 23-inch waist, 41-inch hips and a 34H bust, although she hopes to reduce her waist to 22 inches.

Despite embracing the dramatic look, Anakaliyah admits it has made everyday life more challenging. “There are certain clothes I just can’t wear anymore,” she said. “My girls are way bigger than some dresses. Sometimes there’s too much spillage and it attracts unwanted attention.”

“They’ve never been painful. They’re just inconvenient because I have to buy stretchy clothes that fit my shape.” In addition to breast surgery, Anakaliyah has undergone rib removal before travelling to Peru in September 2025 for a controversial waist-contouring procedure known as RibXcar.

The technique partially fractures selected ribs before patients wear a corset during recovery to gradually reshape the waist, rather than removing the ribs entirely. “I wanted the higher ribs done because most doctors only work on ribs 10, 11 and 12, which I’d already had removed,” she explained. “My surgery lasted around 30 to 45 minutes and I stayed in Peru for 10 days.”

According to Delta Clinics, demand for body contouring procedures such as “Barbie waist” surgery has increased in 2026, although experts have raised concerns over the lack of evidence surrounding the long-term safety of rib contouring procedures. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons lists potential risks including pneumothorax, nerve irritation and problems with rib healing.

Anakaliyah believes recovery plays a major role in the final outcome. “About 70 per cent of your results come from wearing your corset properly, following your diet and taking care of yourself afterwards,” she said.

She later underwent FrontXrib surgery to correct a rib flare but says the recovery has been significantly more difficult than her earlier rib removal. “Rib removal was so easy. I was sore for about two weeks and that was it,” she said. “This recovery has been much harder. I still can’t twist properly, and if I stretch I still feel pain.”

Plastic surgery is not her only interest. Anakaliyah has also undergone body modification procedures, including having a silicone “thumb spine” implant inserted beneath the skin of her thumb. “A lot of people don’t even notice it,” she said. “I love how different it looks.” She hopes to continue modifying her appearance, with plans for a lip lift, a more sculpted face and larger, anime-inspired eyes.

Funding the transformation has required significant sacrifices. Anakaliyah, who has worked as an OnlyFans creator for the past five years, says she rarely travels, does not drink alcohol and spends very little on luxury items because almost all of her disposable income goes towards surgery. “I don’t really live a luxurious lifestyle,” she said. “I save almost everything for surgery. My priorities right now are paying off my house and my plastic surgery.”

After documenting her procedures online, Anakaliyah says she has attracted both dedicated supporters and vocal critics, with some comparing her breasts to airbags or accusing her of taking cosmetic surgery too far.

“Mostly the negative comments come from women,” she said. “That actually makes me sad because I think women should uplift each other. Everyone looking the same would be boring.”

She says she now jokes about one of the insults she receives most often. “When people call me an airbag, I joke that at least if I ever get into an accident, I’ll have something to protect me,” she said. Although Anakaliyah believes she is “about 90 per cent complete”, she does not expect to ever stop having cosmetic procedures.

“Will I ever stop getting plastic surgery?” she said. “That’s a good question. I can honestly tell you probably not. Eventually ageing is going to happen, and there will probably be plastic surgery to fix those problems. So no, I don’t think I’ll ever stop having plastic surgery.”
