Activist and former Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, says he would have taken legal action against President Tinubu if he had included him the National Award list he called out yesterday June 12.
Recall that during his Democracy day speech in the National Assembly on Thursday, June 12, President Tinubu conferred national honors on certain Nigerians described as June 12 heroes. The honorees included people who pushed for the actualization of the mandate of Chief MKO Abiola, winner of the presidential election,
Amongst those decorated with the national honors were Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, and Gen Alani Akinrinade (retd.), each elevated to Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger.
Civil-rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), Bishop Matthew Kukah, Dare Babarinsa, Prof Julius Ihonvbere, Senator Shehu Sani, and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, received Commander of the Order of the Niger.
Reacting to this development, Sowore in a post shared on social media this afternoon, said if he was included in the list, he would have rejected the award and instituted a legal action against President Tinubu for defamation.
He also shared a photo of himself with late MKO Abiola.
