Good news for the Nigerian national team and Napoli as Victor Osimhen wil not require surgery on his dislocated shoulder, according to Sky Sport.

The Partenopei record signing underwent medical examination today as reported by FCNaija earlier and although the shoulder dislocation was confirmed, it does not require surgery as feared.

Osimhen missed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Free Town against Sierra Leone after picking the injury during the 4-4 draw against the Leone Stars in Benin – in a match he scored before his forced substitution in the 74th minute.

The 21-year-old had the medical examinations at Rome’s Villa Stuart today and although he won’t require surgery, he is expected to miss the heavyweight clash against AC Milan this weekend.

Osimhen’s recovery time is not known yet but Napoli are delighted that they won’t be missing their record signing for a longtime on the sidelines.
