The opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party PDP lost over 1, 266 members to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Jigawa State.

State APC chairman, Alhaji Aminu Sani received the decampees on Sunday in Maigatari Local Government Area.

This is coming weeks after he was elected as the new State’s Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

All the state’s executive members from ward to state Congress emerged through consensus, in accordance with the party’s constitution.

Receiving the decampees in Maigatari, the party chairman said the development had clearly indicated that the party had fulfilled its promises.

Represented by the party youth leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Ya’u, he said the decampees would be given equal rights as every member of the party.

In his speech, the council chairman, Uzairu Nadabo said the defection was part of the activities to mark his 100 days in office as the local Government Chairman.
