Posted by on January 14, 2025,

A 42-year-old Nigerian widow and her son who were killed by kidnappers have been laid to rest in Imo State.

It was gathered that kidnappers brutally m8rdered Ruth Ifeoma Agunanne and her son, Chimezie Charles Akamere, 20, after collecting N5m ransom from their family.

According to reports, the gunmen dumped their bodies near the Ohaji Egbema/Rivers State boundary, a region notorious for kidnappings allegedly perpetrated by herdsmen.

Farmers in the area stumbled upon the lifeless bodies on their farm and promptly reported the incident to the local vigilante group.

Subsequently, the vigilante group contacted the families of the missing persons to come and identify the already decomposing bodies.

Ruth was laid to rest at her father’s compound in Ugbele-Akah in Nkaba Local Government Area of Imo State on January 10, 2024.

Her son was laid to rest in his father’s residence in Ibeama Ekwe.
