Manchester United claimed a narrow 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in their final game of the season, but the result was heavily influenced by a VAR decision involving Bryan Mbeumo in the build-up to a decisive goal.
The key flashpoint came when a strike from Matheus Cunha stood after a prolonged VAR review, despite strong appeals for a handball in the earlier phase of play.
Luke Shaw put United ahead inside the opening five minutes, reacting sharply inside the box to control and finish clinically, sending Old Trafford into early celebration.
United then went close to doubling their lead, with Mbeumo hitting the woodwork before Casemiro missed a rebound opportunity.

Nottingham Forest levelled after the interval when Morato rose highest to head home from a cross delivered by Elliot Anderson.
United quickly regained control, with Cunha bundling in after Mbeumo’s effort was initially checked and ultimately allowed to stand by VAR.
Bruno Fernandes recorded a landmark 20th assist of the season, setting up Mbeumo for a close-range finish.
Forest responded again through Morgan Gibbs-White, but United held firm to close out a tense and controversial victory.
